Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)


Our Surgical Technologists are certified through NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.) Typically, completion of this program consists of:

  • Diploma, certificate or associates degree from an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Board Certified with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) as a CST
  • Where applicable, an active license in the state to which you will be assigned/working

Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)


Our Certified Surgical Assistants (CST) are certified through NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.) Typically, completion of this program consists of:

  • Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Assisting educational program or
  • NBSTSA certified Surgical Technologist with a facility willing to sponsor surgical first assistant experience training and 200 clinical cases in the surgical first assistant role or
  • Graduate of a military training program in surgical technology with 200 clinical cases as a surgical first assistant within the previous four years or
  • CSA or SA-C with 50 continuing educational units and 200 documented surgical first assist procedures within the previous two years
